Kinyuru Munuhe is a seasoned diplomacy, geopolitics and strategic communications expert with extensive experience spanning public policy, international relations, media, and development communications.
He has built a distinguished career advising government institutions, development partners and private sector organisations on strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, international cooperation and public affairs.
Munuhe has provided strategic advisory support to numerous international development programmes, leading high-level engagements, partnership building, resource mobilisation initiatives and multi-stakeholder forums at domestic, regional and global levels.
His expertise encompasses diplomacy, geopolitical analysis, strategic messaging, policy advocacy and reputation management.
Prior to his current role, he served as Communications Lead Consultant for the Mastercard Foundation Jiinue Growth Program (JGP) at the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), where he spearheaded strategic communications for one of Kenya's flagship enterprise growth initiatives supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
Before transitioning into diplomacy and geopolitics and strategic communications affairs, Munuhe spent more than a decade as a journalist, covering governance, security, crime, politics and public policy.
His journalism background has equipped him with exceptional skills in media relations, public engagement, crisis communication and policy communication.
Academically, Munuhe is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in International Studies at the University of Nairobi. He holds a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies (International Security) from the University of Nairobi, as well as a Diploma in Journalism and Public Relations from the then Kenya Polytechnic University College (now the Technical University of Kenya).
He is an active member of several professional associations, including the Diplomacy Scholars Association of Kenya (DIPSAK), the International Relations Society of Kenya (IRSK), the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK), and the Media Council of Kenya. He is also a founding member of the Crime Journalists Association of Kenya (CJAK).
Munuhe is widely recognised for his expertise in diplomacy, international relations, strategic communications, public affairs, development communication, stakeholder engagement, media strategy and geopolitical analysis.
His work is driven by a commitment to fostering effective partnerships, promoting peace processes in war torn countries, strengthening institutions and advancing impactful communication that supports sustainable development and informed public discourse.
